Papercraft Pokemon – Pikachu V2

Papercraft Pokemon – Pikachu v2

025 / PIKACHU - Pokémon Papercraft
Name: Pikachu
Type: Electric
Species: Mouse Pokémon
Height: 0.4 m (1'04")
Weight: 6.0 kg (13.2 lbs.)
Interesting Facts: A Pikachu is a short, chubby, ground-dwelling rodent notable for its Electric abilities. Pikachu have short, yellow fur with brown stripes on the back, red cheeks that can produce small jolts of electricity, a mouth that looks like a sideways three, black-tipped ears, along with an unusually shaped tail, resembling a lightning bolt. Besides its evolution and pre-evolution, it may be related to Plusle, Minun, Pachirisu, and Emonga due to notable physical similarities. Pikachu are known to have acute senses of hearing, thanks to their large ears. Most domestic Pikachu are able to understand and interpret human speech at levels far surpassing those of any pet dog.
THE PAPER MODEL
Height: 18.1 cm/7.1 in
Width: 15.2 cm/ 5.9 in
Depth: 16.1 cm/6.3 in
Pages: 5 (pikachu) + 1 (scarf)
Pieces: 43 (male)/45 (female) + 1 (scarf)
Level: Medium
Designer: Brandon/Lyrin - Scarf: PMF
Photo: Lyrin
NOTES: The model isn't difficult, the only tricky parts are the fingers. First thing, start with the thumb and create the five pyramids that compose the fingers. Once you've done it, making the rest of the hand will be really simple. Anyway, refer to the pdo for building them: it'll be even simpler (I've also coloured the finger-parts that need to be glued together with the same colour). As for the rest, follow the numbers on the template and you'll be fine. Once you reach the tail, choose if you want a female or a male Pikachu, and only print the corresponding page. And if you want to build the scarf, there's a close-up picture in the download pack that shows how the knot is done (and also the fingers, so you can use that picture for further reference). Please note that you can use normal printer paper to print out the scarf (it'll be simpler to wrap around pika's neck, in fact), and that there's no need to glue it: it's completely unwrappable and removable. There are also a blue and a red scarf texture in the pack, in case you want to customize your Pikachu (you'll have to change the texture settings in pepakura viewer to use them).

Papercraft Pokemon – Pikachu

025 / PIKACHU - Pokémon Papercraft
Name: Pikachu
Type: Electric
Species: Mouse
Generation: One
Height: 0.4m (1′04″)
Weight: 6.0kg(13.2 lbs.)
Interesting Facts: Pikachu are known to have acute senses of hearing, thanks to their large ears. Most domestic Pikachu are very intelligent, understanding and interpreting human speech at levels far surpassing those of any pet dog. A female Pikachu has a small "dent" at the end of its tail, causing it to resemble a heart. It evolves from Pichu by the measure of it's happiness, and evolves into Raichu using a Thunderstone. There's also two Pokédolls based on Pikachu; Normal and Surfin'.
THE PAPER MODEL

NOTES: Special thanks go to POdragon for her help with some of the 3D editing. Before closing the model, glue a penny onto the inside of tummy, as a counter balance for the huge tail! Observe the coloured tabs on the fingers - it'll make building (away from the .PDO) much easier. The apple is also included in the download pack.

Papercraft Pokemon – Raichu

Papercraft Pokemon – Raichu

026 / RAICHU - Pokémon Papercraft
Name:
Raichu
Type: Electric
Species: Mouse Pokémon
Height: 0.63 m (2'07")
Weight: 29.98 kg (66.1 lbs.)
Interesting Facts: Although Raichu is quite small, it is capable of storing over 100,000 volts of electricity in its body. Raichu is much more aggressive than Pikachu, especially if it has stored too much electricity in its body. It needs to constantly discharge this electricity through its tail into the ground, and will electrocute objects, people, and Pokémon until its electricity level is back to normal.
THE PAPER MODEL
Height: 25.0 cm/9.84 in
Width: 19.4 cm/ 7.64 in
Depth: 17.6 cm/6.93 in
No. of Pages: 7
No. of Pieces: 56
Level: Hard
Designer: Brandon and Skelekitty

NOTES: The ears and tail are the tricky parts of this model. The ear curl must be glued together and cut out before the ear is constructed. The tail should be made and attached before the main body is closed up. Start at the base of the tail, and build each section before inserting it, with a generous amount of glue, into the previous part. Remember to wait for that section to cure (dry) completely before moving on to the next piece. And as a bonus, we are also including a surprise :o version of Raichu in this pack!

THE PAPER MODEL

Pages: 4
Pieces: 38
Level: Medium
Designer: Brandon

NOTES: Start at the head and glue the ears while you can still apply presure from the inside. The only tricky part of the head is to cut the curl of the ears, take your time there, after they are cut, glue them where there are two tabs, glue these tabs on the back of each other and glue the curl over them. After that, build the body, joining the arms and legs as you go. The tail is not hard, but it's heavy and can collapse with time, so after the tail is glued, glue some scrap paper on the connection to make it stronger. Close at the back, close to one of the legs.
